The Tie Works app for iPhone and iPad

Graeme Benjamin co-founded the company in 1994 and recently The Tie Works came under Graeme’s control.

Graeme has been in the menswear industry all his working life. He started in his fathers retail business in 1969 and he ran this business, which had 5 menswear stores until 1982, when his father wanted to retire, and Graeme wanted to try a different aspect of menswear.

Graeme went into Victoria Market for a number of years selling Australiania and at the same time set up a menswear agency business which among his many labels over the years featured Tarocash. He then also helped set up The Tie Works.

As The Tie Works grew Graeme kept only Tarocash as an agency and concentrated on the strong growth of The Tie Works which expanded to have many products apart from ties, and became possibly the first truly mens accessory company in Australia.

The label Carlo Visconti also grew and was eventually featured heavily in every major independent store in Australia.

Graeme’s philosophy has always been to have the best possible quality, the most up to date fashion suitable for the Australian market and most importantly he recognised that retailers have to have the best possible value so they can make extra margin on their product.

The Tie Works recently moved to their new premises in Alphington and the company looks forward to servicing all our retailers in the years ahead.
